This report provides an overview of the African Fintech landscape.In particular, we focus our attention on three B2B subverticals that have been very active lately, serving the continent’s businesses:

✔ SME lending - We see significant equity and debt funding to several specialist lenders that continue to deploy capital and expand their SME offerings (eg to broader banking).

✔ Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) & BankTech - There are several growing BaaS platforms – supported by a rich BankTech/ RegTech ecosystem - as investors see the demand by businesses to offer financial products to their – usually underbanked - end clients

✔ Merchant Acquiring & B2B Payments  - The broader payment sector has been booming in the continent with an increasing wave of platforms serving merchants for payments acceptance and B2B payments.
